'Burkina Faso' project

• Yves POULLET will stay in Burkina Faso apart from the 16th of January till the 26th of January for three missions: lectures at the University of Ouagadougou on IT Law; participation as member of the CUD delegation for the drafting of the Universitair cooperation agreement between Belgium and Burkina Faso and launching, by an inaugural seminar, of the project concluded between the University of Namur and the Burkina Faso (Ministry of ICT) as regards a "Regulatoty framework for ICT in Burkina Faso".

  'eGov' study

• Pr. Cécile DE TERWAGNE and Cristina DOS SANTOS are concluding the European Project "Breaking Barriers to eGovernment : Overcoming obstacles to improving European public services" (Modinis study).
  This one was a three year project (2005-2007) funded by the European Commission to investigate the legal, organisational, technological and other barriers to expanding effective eGovernment services using the Internet.
  The study has identified and explored key issues that could constrain eGovernment growth, drawing on real-life case studies.
  The research team (Oxford Internet Institute - UK, CRID - B, TILT - NL, GOV3 - UK and the University of Murcia - SP) have also defined possible initiatives at a European level to overcome such obstacles, including best practice recommendations.

  'eCMR' project

• Cristina DOS SANTOS will begin to work on a Project called "eCMR" funded by the Walloon Region for two years.
  This study will deal with questions like the geolocalisation of the Heavy Goods Vehicles and the implementation of new tools for that, as well as a complete legal study about the European Law in this field, privacy, etc.

  Study on the 'Mutualisation informatique'

• David DE ROY and Aurélie VAN DER PERRE completed the final report for the 'Région wallonne' concerning 'Les aspects généraux de la mutualisation informatique dans le secteur public (General aspects of the informatic mutualisation)'. The study is accessible here.

  Study on the Liability of Internet intermediaries

• The european study on 'the liability on Internet intermediaries' realized by the Crid (Etienne MONTERO, Aurélie VAN DER PERRE) in consortium with the law firm Ulys (coordinator) and the Universities of Salerno and Goettingen has been finalized at the end of the last month. Results are not yet publically available.
