  • Antoinette ROUVROY has taken part to the expert interdisciplinary workshop "Learning a Foreign Language: Surveillance" organized by the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School (www.cyber.law.harvard.edu) in collaboration with the Research Center for Information Law at the University of St. Gallen (www.fir.unisg.ch) as a part of a transatlantic research co-operation. The workshop's aim was to gain a deeper conceptual and practical understanding of surveillance as a complex phenomenon at the intersection of law, technology, economics, sociology, and psychology. She presented and moderated the session on "The social costs of surveillance", Rapperswil (Switzerland), 21 to 23 May 2009.
  • Jean-Marc DINANT has participated as a guest lecturer to the conference "towards a successfull IT expertize" organised by the Belgian Chamber of IT experts", 14 May 2009.

  • The 13th of May, the Belgian Data protection autorithy organized a conference on the future of the Directive at the Belgian Parliament. Yves POULLET analysed the present definition of the Directive: "Do we need new definitions?".
  • Yves POULLET has participated to the expert workshop organized by the IPTS (EU Commission - Sevilla) on eID at Brussels, 15 May 2009.
  • Yves POULLET has met the Minister of the Posts and of the ICT, Mr. Noël KABORE and the Chair of the CIL (Commission de l'informatique et des libertés), Ms Allimata OUATTARA during his stay in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), 23 to 30 May 2009. During these week, he has given lectures about ICT issues (20 hours) at the University of Ouagadougou.
