Since 24 October
2009, the CRID is pleased to welcome Violette PEIGNE who
will be with us untill December 12th. Violiette
is a PhD student from Scuola
superiore Sant'Anna de Pise and she is preparing a
thesis on electronic medical files (co-supervised between
Scuola superiore Sant'Anna de Pise and
Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University) comparing
legal practices in Great Britain, France, Belgium and
Italy.

On 21 October 2009, the Special Rapporteur
on the right to food, Mr. Olivier De Schutter (UCL), presented
his report on the impact of intellectual property on the
right to food., to the United Nations General Assembly. In
order to allow t build his recommendations on the best scientific
evidence available, he called upon the scientific community
to contribute to the mandate, under the Intellectual Property
Unit of the CRID. The expert submissions are now available
on the CRID's webpage, accessible here.
