General Information

Since 15th May, Crid has the pleasure to welcome Mr Paul KIEMDE doctor in political Sciences from the University of Clermont-Férrand (France). He will stay with us till the 30th of June in oder to make some researches about the economic regulation authorities in the UEMOA (Union Economique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine).
Ms Carmen Plana, doctor in laws of the Murcia University in Spain, is between us since the 1st till the 25th of June in order to lead some researches about Data protection and IPR.

Philippe LAURENT made a presentation on ITC contracts and open source during the JuriTIC conference organised by the CRID, Brussels, 7 May 2010.
Claire GAYREL made a presentation on "The Erosion of the Purpose Limitation Principle in the JLS area" at the INEX workshop "Data Transfers in the New AFSJ: Go With The Flow?", Centre for European Policy Studies, Brussels, 10 May 2010 .
Antoinette ROUVROY made a speech on "Problematizing privacy enhancing technologies through a comparison between legal and technological normativities", HIDE focus group meeting, London, Regents Park Conference Center, 14 May 2010.
Myriam SANOU made a presentation of the final report of her FSR project on "legal access to biobanks" during a seminar held at the CRID, 6 May 2010.
Yves POULLET was invited by the University of Laussanne to present his reflections on the Future of Privacy in the context of a Seminar held jointly by the Institute for Management and the Faculty of Law, Lausanne, 19 May.
Yves POULLET was invited by the "Master LUcentinus" (postgraduate programme focusing on IPR and Information Society) to give a speech on "Self-determination in the Information Society", Allicante, 21 May 2010.
Yves POULLET participated in the international Conference "e-Youth: Risks and opportunities" organized by the University of Antwerpen and made a presentation on "-Youth before its judges" which was the keynote speech, Antwerpen, 27-28 May.

Lectures given by CRID researchers (May 2010)

Yves POULLET was invited by the HEC Lausanne for delivering a lesson about the "Future of Privacy",on May 19. He took this opportunity to discuss with the Board of the postgraduate programme organised by HEC and the Facukty of Law on "Information Systems and Security".
Florence de VILLENFAGNE gave a session on computer crime in the framework of the INFOSAFE programme (FUNDP-ICHEC), Brussels, 6 May 2010.
Florence de VILLENFAGNE directed the Liability one-day work shop in the framework of the INFOSAFE programme (FUNDP-ICHEC), Brussels, 7 May 2010.

Antoinette ROUVROY was, with Thomas BERNS, invited by France-Culture, for a broadcast of Xavier de la Porte, Place de la Toile, which was especially focused on their common research on algorithmic governmentality, Paris, Friday 21 May 2010, 11am-12am. The broadcast is available in podcast here
Antoinette ROUVROY was invited by RTBF for a broadcast of "Quand les jeunes s'en mèlent", on the theme "Jusqu'où peut-on aller avec et sur le net ?", Théâtre Poëme, Brussels, 8 Mai 2010.
Antoinette ROUVROY was interviewed by RTBF on Facebook confidentiality issues, 25 May, 2010. The broadcast is available here.

Sandwich and Research Seminar op the CRID (May 2010)

Claire GAYREL presented her research on "the attributes of State sovereignty tested by new surveillance technologies". Graduated in European Law and political sciences, Claire Gayrel worked a period for the European Regional Development Found (ERDF) in French Guyana, before joining the CRID in September 2008. Her researches currently focus on transborder data flows and on the protection of personal data in the Justice, liberty and security area of the European Union.
